Google’s AI Mode has landed in the UK, and Found’s already on the airwaves talking about it.
This week, our Chief AI Officer, Dora Moldovan, joined BBC Radio 5 Live’s Wake Up to Money and BBC Radio 4 Today show to unpack what the arrival of Google’s AI Mode means for consumers, brands, and the future of the internet.
Dora’s message – this isn’t just a new feature, it’s a shift in how we discover, decide and buy.
“We’re going to see AI rewriting the way we consume the internet.”
During the interview, Dora outlined how AI Mode signals the end of browsing as we know it. The future of search isn’t a results page – it’s a personal assistant.
“We’ll soon rely on AI agents for everything – searching, shopping, even planning holidays,” she said. “The classic browser experience is going to be replaced by AI operating systems.”
And the rollout has already begun. In the US and India, over 2 million people are using AI Mode each month, with the UK now following closely behind.

What does this mean for brands?
For businesses, this shift poses a real challenge, especially in an already uncertain economic climate. The traditional rules of SEO are evolving, fast.
As Dora explained:
“Multimodal content, images, video, structured formats – is crucial. But equally important is your brand’s reputation. What people say on Reddit, Wikipedia, forums that now shape your visibility in AI Overviews.”
Found has been preparing our clients for this moment. Through our trademarked Everysearch™ approach and proprietary AI tool, Luminr, we help brands track and optimise their visibility across all major search entry points – from TikTok and ChatGPT to Amazon and Google’s evolving ecosystem.
The fundamentals haven’t disappeared but the signals have changed.
This new search environment isn’t just about visibility, it’s about trust, relevance and context.
Dora outlined what small and large businesses need to do next:
- Invest in well-structured, helpful content
- Build a strong off-site brand presence
- Think beyond traditional SEO and PPC tactics
- Define an AI strategy that supports discoverability and growth
Because in this new AI-powered world, showing up isn’t enough. You need to show up in the right context, with the right message, and with a reputation that search agents trust.
